Egypt coach Hector Cuper has asked the Egyptian football association and local security officials to allow fans to attend the coming friendly against DR Congo in Alexandria's Borg El-Arab stadium.
The Pharaohs are scheduled to face DR Congo on 30 May as part of the preparations for the last game of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania in June.
The Argentinean coach said the team needs full support during the coming friendly as it will help them to cement their position in the first class of the FIFA rankings after placing fifth in the African rankings this month, which will in turn help Egypt in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
The seven-time African champions, who are within reach of a place at next year's Cup of Nations for the first time since 2010, are at the top of Group G of the qualifiers with seven points, five ahead of second-placed Nigeria.
