Egypt coach announces squad for Ghana's World Cup qualifier

Egyptian national team manager Hector Cuper has called-up 23 players for the coming crucial game against Ghana in the second round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

The game is scheduled for 13 November in Borg El-Arab stadium in Alexandria.

Egypt have made a good start in the World Cup qualifier with an away victory against Congo, while Ghana were held to a disappointing goalless draw at home by minnows Uganda.

The Pharaohs are leading group E with three points, two ahead of second-placed Ghana.

Seven-time African champions, Egypt has made only two World Cup appearances, both in Italy in 1934 and 1990.

Egypt 23-man squad:                               

Goalkeepers: Essam El-Hadary (Wadi Degla), Ahmed El-Shennawi (Zamalek), Sherif Ekramy (Ahly)

Defenders: Omar Gaber (FC Basel, Switzerland) Ahlmed Fathi, Ahmed Hegazy (Ahly), Ahmed Dwidar, Ali Gabr (Zamalek), Hamada Toulba (Masry), Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City, England), Mohamed Abdel-Shafi (Ahly Jeddah, KSA)
