Egypt’s new technical staff, under the guidance of American coach Bob Bradley, will be watching this week’s Egyptian Premier League matches in preparation for next month’s highly anticipated friendly with Brazil.
“On Sunday we are watching Masry v El-Entag El-Harby and Ahly v Gouna. We picked another two of Monday’s matches, ENPPI v Dakhleya and Zamalek v El-Geish,” Egypt’s assistant coach Diaa El-Sayed told Ahram Online.
Seven-time African champions Egypt, who surprisingly missed out on a place at next year’s African Cup of Nations finals, will play two friendlies with five-time world champions Brazil.
The first match will take place in the Qatari capital Doha on 14 November, with the second taking place in Cairo in February.
Egypt last met Brazil in a thrilling encounter in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa, where the Pharaohs suffered a 4-3 defeat after Kaka converted a stoppage-time penalty.
The former Chicago Fire and the New York/New Jersey MetroStars (now known as the New York Red Bulls) manager, Bradley, is set to lead Egypt until the 2014 Wold Cup finals in Brazil after succeeding Hassan Shehata who won three successive Nations Cup titles but failed to qualify for the 2012 competition.
