Egypt’s Olympic team are set to play two friendlies with Senegal as the two sides prepare for the 2012 London Olympic Games qualifiers to take place in Morocco this month.
The matches are scheduled for Friday and Monday.
Under the helm of Hani Ramzi, the Olympic team launched their closed camp for the qualifiers last Tuesday with 29 players, and will select a 21-man squad for the U-23 African Championship in Morocco on 26 November.
Amid their preparations, Ramzy’s squad replaced the seniors in the last two meaningless matches of the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, against Niger and Sierra Leone, following the failure of the first team to qualify for the championship they won three successive times.
Egypt’s U-23 team, which are drawn with the Ivory Coast, South Africa and Gabon in the final phase of qualifiers, are bidding for their first qualification since 1992.
