Out of action, Egypt's national football team have kept their position at number 19 in the FIFA global rankings which were released on Thursday.

The Pharaohs, who were ranked in the global top ten in 2010 during their golden era after three successive Africa Cup of Nations wins (2006, 2008 and 2010), are advancing in world rankings after their 2017 tournament achievements, making it into the top 20 in March.

Egypt are currently out of action since they strolled to a 3-0 friendly win over Togo in their first match after the African Nations Cup.

The Pharaohs' next competitive game will be against Tunisia in June in their opening Group J clash of the 2019 Nations Cup qualifiers. The group also includes Niger and Swaziland.

Egypt is still leading the continent in global rankings, ahead of Senegal (30), Cameroon (33), Burkina Faso (35) and Nigeria (40).

They have also kept their lead among Arab countries, above Tunisia (42), Saudi Arabia (52), Morocco (53) and Algeria (54).

Brazil kept their place in the global ranking lead after changing places with Argentina last month. Madagascar were the best mover in this month's rankings, jumping 9 positions to rank 111th, while Malawi made the worst move, dropping 14 places to 114th.
