A few days ahead of Egypt's friendly match against Portugal, Manchester City's Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva heaped praise on Liverpool's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, describing him as one of the best players in the world.

Egypt is set to face Portugal in Switzerland on Friday as both sides are preparing for this summer's World Cup.

"He’s a great player -- if not the best, then one of the most important players for Liverpool," Bernardo told Sport 360 on Monday.

"It’s great to have some of the best footballers in the world playing against us," he said, adding, "Of course, it’s not easy to play against him, because he’s so good, but it’s good."

The Egyptian winger took the Premier League by storm since joining Liverpool from Italian side Roma last summer, scoring 36 goals with the Reds in all competitions so far.

He made headlines on Saturday after scoring four goals against Watford to take his goal tally in the Premier League to 28 to lead the Premier League top scorers' chart.

Egypt, who reached the World Cup after 28 years' absence, will play in Group A alongside hosts Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
