Egypt's national team stepped up their preparations for the World Cup, conducting two training sessions on Sunday just hours before announcing their final squad for the Russia finals.

The Pharaohs will be hosted by Belgium in Brussels in their final warm-up match on Wednesday, before flying to Russia to make their first World Cup appearance since 1990, when they were eliminated at the group stage.

"The players showed a high morale in Sunday's night training session as they all aimed to prove their worth just before the final squad for the World Cup is announced on Monday morning," read a statement on the Egyptian Football Association's (EFA) official Facebook page.

Argentinean coach Hector Cuper, who previously selected 29 players for the last training camp ahead of the World Cup, is due to announce his final 23-man squad on Monday.

Egypt secured a late 1-1 draw against Kuwait last month before holding Colombia to a 0-0 stalemate in the Italian city of Bergamo on Friday.

In March, Egypt lost to Portugal and Greece in two friendly matches held during their first training camp in Switzerland.

The seven-time African champions will kick off their World Cup campaign on 15 June against Uruguay, then face hosts Russia on 19 June. Their final Group A match will be against Saudi Arabia on 25 June.
