Egypt's youth team was drawn alongside hosts Libya, Mali and Lesotho in Group A of the 2011 African Cup of Nations (ACN) U-20 championship at Tuesday's draw in Tripoli.

The other four teams in the tournament are the holders Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and Gambia.

“The teams in each group will play each other on round-robin basis with the group winners and runners-up advancing to the last four and eventually the final,” the Confedration of African Football CAF said on a statement on its official website.

“The semi finalists will represent the continent at the FIFA U-20 World Cup slated for Colombia later next year,” added the statement.

The tournament will be staged from 18 March – 1 April.

Egypt’s Coach Mostafa Younis stepped down from his position last week with former Egypt youth coach Diaa El-Sayed the most prominent candidate to replace him.
