Egypt's national football team maintained their position at the 49th place in the FIFA global football rankings, the first ranking of the year 2021.
Out of action, Egypt finished FIFA's ranking in 2020 in the same position since they played their last game when they defeated Togo 3-1 in the 2022 African Cup of Nations Cup qualifiers in mid-November.
The Pharaohs stayed in the 6th place among African countries, behind Senegal (20), Tunisia (26), Algeria (31), Morocco (33), and Nigeria (36).
The February rankings witnessed no major changes for African and European teams, as Senegal stayed in the lead among African teams, while Belgium reigned over the top ten national teams, ahead of France, Brazil, and England.
Egypt, who made it into the world's top ten teams after they won consecutive African Cup of Nations trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010, stayed fourth among Arab countries, after Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco.
Egypt are in the driving seat of Group G of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with eight points after playing four games so far, and they are scheduled to play their first official game in the qualifiers against Kenya next March.
The best mover in the new ranking was Mali, jumping three places to the 54th place, while the biggest drop belonged to Uganda, who fell four spots to 83rd place.
