Egypt's national team director Wael Gomaa said on Thursday the Pharaohs' new technical staff has yet to decide the fate of Galatasaray striker Mostafa Mohamed following the latter's behavior toward the team's previous coach, Hossam El-Badri, after the Gabon clash in the World Cup qualifiers.

The 23-year-old played the last 15 minutes in Egypt's 1-1 draw with Gabon in the World Cup qualifiers earlier this month, scoring the a last-gasp equaliser that rescued the Pharaohs from slumping to their first defeat in the qualifiers.

Video replays showed the Galatasaray striker spitting after scoring his goal with reports suggesting it was directed to coach Hossam El-Badri.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) sacked El-Badri after Gabon's draw, naming Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz as his successor.

"Mostafa Mohamed? We have yet to decide his fate," Wael Gomaa told reporters on Thursday.

The former Zamalek striker, who joined the Turkish giants on loan last January, produced a string of strong displays with his new side last season, but has failed to score so far this term.

Earlier this week, Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim said that the player must quickly regain his form if he wants to keep his place with the team.
