The FIFA announced the dates of Egypt and Libya’s matches in the third and fourth round of the World Cup qualifiers, with the first game set for 8 October in Alexandria and the second on 11 October in Benghazi.
Both matches will be played at 9 pm Cairo local time, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said.
The Pharaohs are currently in second place in Group F with four points after defeating Angola 1-0 in the first round and equalising with Gabon 1-1 in the second round.
Meanwhile, Libya are leading the group with six points after defeating both Gabon 2-1 and Angola 1-0.
The EFA revealed earlier that the national team will be playing a friendly against Liberia on 30 September at Borg El-Arab stadium, which will be Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz first outing as Egypt’s coach.
Queiroz came after the sacking of coach Hossam El-Badry following severe criticism to the national team’s performance under his leadership, however, he did not lose any matches during his two-year-stay with the team.
