“The only way Egypt can guarantee success is to always be committed to being better, stronger, and to developing a winning team culture,” Queiroz said via Twitter on Tuesday, just a few days before facing Libya in a double-header in the World Cup qualifiers on 8 and 11 October.
In early September, Queiroz was hired after the sacking of coach Hossam El-Badry following severe criticism of the national team’s performance in the early games against Angola and Gabon in the World Cup qualifiers.
The seven-time African Champions have struggled to make an impact in these qualifiers as they barely defeated Angola 1-0 at home before being held to a 1-1 draw by Gabon in Libreville.
Egypt fell two points behind North African leaders Libya, who claimed a full six points from their opening two games.
The seasoned tactician is hoping to fire the team up, win this group stage campaign, and head to the third and final phase of the qualifiers.
Under the leadership of Queiroz, Egypt defeated Liberia 2-0 in a friendly game on Friday in anticipation for the double showdown with Libya.
