Egypt makes more changes in squad ahead of 2022 World Cup qualifying finals

Egypt's coach Carlos Queiroz made more changes in the Pharaohs squad for the final two games in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Queiroz excluded Zamalek's in-form midfielder Tarek Hamed and winger Ahmed Sayed Zizo and recalled Ahly's striker Mohamed Sherif and playmaker Mohamed Magdi Afsha.

The Pharaohs are scheduled to face Angola in the fifth round of the qualifiers on 12 November, four days before playing against Gabon in the final round of the African World Cup qualifiers.

The 68-year-old, coach announced the formation of the squad on Saturday, calling Zamalek defender Mahmoud Alaa, midfielder Emam Ashour and striker Ahmed Yasser Rayan who plays for Turkish side Altay.

The Portuguese veteran coach also excluded Pyramids FC winger Ramadan Sobhi and Ismaily defender Baher El-Mohammady.

Egypt are leading their Group F which includes Angola, Gabon, and Libya with 10 points after winning three matches and equalising in one game.

Egypt's 26-man squad:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shennawy (Ahly), Mohamed Abu Gabal (Zamalek), Mahmoud Gad (Enppi), Mohamed Sobhy (Farco).

Defenders: Akram Tawfik, Ayman Ashraf (Ahly), Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Hamdy (Pyramids FC), Ahmed Hegazy (Ittihad of Jeddah), Ahmed Yassien (NBE club), Mahmoud 'El-Wensh' Hamdi, Mahmoud Alaa, Ahmed Fatouh (Zamalek).

Midfielders: Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal), Hamdi Fathi, Amr El-Sulaya, Mohamed Magdi Afsha (Ahly), Emam Ashour, Mostafa Fathi (Zamalek), Abdallah El-Said (Pyramids FC).

Strikers: Omar Marmoush (Stuttgart), Mohamed Sherif (Ahly), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Ahmed Yasser Rayan (Altay),  Mostafa Mohamed (Galatasaray), Marwan Hamdi (Smouha).
