Egypt left-back Mohamed Abdel-Shafy could be sidelined from the Pharaohs' scheduled 30 June clash against the Central African Republic (CAR) for 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, Zamalek announced on Sunday.

"Abdel-Shafy dislocated his shoulder during the last match with CAR," the Cairo Giants said in a statement published on their official website.

"The national team doctor will do his best to prepare the fullback for the game, but if he fails, the player will be forced to wear a cast," the club added.

Under American manager Bob Bradley, Egypt, the winners of seven CAN trophies, lost 3-2 against CAR in the first leg of qualifiers in Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium last Friday.

They are now in danger of not making the finals for the second tournament in a row if they fail to win the upcoming second leg in Bangui by at least two goals.
