Playing their 10th final, the seven-time African Champions lost to Senegal on penalties 4-2 on Sunday after a scoreless draw.
“We have played four matches, 120 minutes each, in approximately 12 days. Of course, it’s a difficult situation for us psychologically, but now it’s over,” Salah appeared in a video circulated on Monday talking to his teammates in the dressing room.
“We have another round next month, and we will take our revenge from them,” he concluded.
Egypt's Sports and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhy appeared in the video praising the players' performance, commitment, and determination.
Egypt has been paired with Senegal in the third and final round of the World Cup playoffs in a two-legged tie. The Pharaohs will host the Teranga Lions in Cairo on 24 March and the return leg is set to be played in Senegal on 29 March.
