Egypt's Queiroz announces list of foreign-based players for Senegal playoff

Egypt's Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz announced the list of foreign-based players that will participate in the World Cup playoffs against Senegal that is scheduled for 25 March at home and 29 March in Dakar.

The Pharaohs last met the Lions of Teranga in the final of the 2021 African Cup of Nations, which ended with Egypt losing on penalties.

Queiroz wrote on his official Twitter account on Tuesday the names of nine players who are included in his provisional squad list:

Karim Hafez (Yeni Malatyaspor)

Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal)

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool FC)

Mostafa Fathy (Al-Taawoon)

Mostafa Mohamed (Galatasaray)

Ahmed Hassan Kouka (Konyaspor)

Ahmed Yasser Rayan (Altay)

Omar Marmoush (VFB Stuttgart)

Mahmoud Trezeguet (Istanbul Basaksehir FK)

Egypt and Ittihad of Jeddah defender Ahmed Hegazi is the only player that was excluded from Queiroz’s choices due to an injury that he picked up during the 2021 AFCON.
