All together now united, supporting Team Egypt: Coach Queiroz

Pharaohs’ coach Carlos Queiroz motivated his players ahead of their clash against Senegal in the World Cup Playoffs with a rallying tweet on his account that is similar to one he posted five days ago, in which he started the countdown to the start of the Pharaohs’ training camp for the games against Senegal.

“Lads, count down day five. Prioritising goals and dreams, nothing is impossible. Never doubt that a team full of committed, brave, and talented people can change the future,” Queiroz tweeted on Wednesday.

“All together now united, supporting Team Egypt. One Egyptian flag in each home’s window. One national team shirt dressed in the heart of each fan. One hundred million fans together and united in one heartbeat.”

Egypt lost to Senegal earlier last month on penalties at the final of the 2021 African Cup of Nations, and they are scheduled to meet each other again for the World Cup Playoffs on 25 March at Cairo Stadium followed by an away game in Senegal on 29 March.

Egyptians, however, are worried about the growling list of injured key players, as both Pyramids FC winger Ramadan Sobhi and Basaksehir winger Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan may not be in good enough shape to be included in the squad list for Senegal’s clash.
