The left back had been named for Egypt’s final squad that is preparing for the Nations Cup qualifiers.

The 24-year-old made 20 appearances with the Pharaohs, scoring only one goal.

Newly appointed coach Ehab Galal called-up Malatayspor fullback Karim Hafez to replace Fatouh.

The Pharaohs will launch their campaign in the Nations Cup qualifiers on Sunday when they host Guinea before facing Ethiopia away from home on 9 June.

Egypt were drawn in Group D alongside Ethiopia, Guinea and Malawi, with the two first teams of the Group reaching the continental competition.
