The Premier League top scorer had arrived in Cairo on Wednesday after playing the Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday and retuning to Liverpool for a City parade a day later.
He joined Egypt’s camp early on Thursday and participated to the evening training session. It is the first time the Pharaohs’ skipper meets his new coach Ehab Galal, who took over the job on 1 May after the departure of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz.
The seven-time African champions are set to kick off their qualifiers campaign on 5 June against Guinea at home before flying to Malawi to play Ethiopia in the second round on 9 June.
