Micale names Egypt's U23 squad to face Eswatini

Egypt U-23 national football team’s new coach Rogerio Micale has announced on Monday a 30-man squad that will face Eswatini in the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers later this month.

The young Pharaohs will play the first leg in Eswatini on 23 October and the return leg will be played in Alexandria on 30 October.

Brazilian tactician Micale has included all his key players including Ibrahim Adel, Hossam Abdel-Meguid, Osama Faisal and Mostafa Saad.

If Egypt qualifies from this tie they will face the winner between Zambia and Sierra Leone in the third and final qualifying round for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations.

The top three teams of the U23 African Cup of Nations qualify directly for the Olympic Games 2024.

Egypt’s squad:

Goalkeepers: Hamza Alaa (Ahly), Ahmed Nader El-Sayed (FC Vizela / Portugal), Aly Mohamed Yehia.

Defenders: Mohamed Ashraf, Mohamed Maghraby, Abd El-Rahman Rashdan, Karim El Debes (Ahly), Mohamed Tarek, Hossam Abdelmaguid (Zamalek), Ahmed Eid, Abdullah Adel (Enppi), Eyad El-Askalany (Isamily), Hesham Shaban, Mohamed Samir.

Midfielders: Rafaat Khalil, Mostafa Saad, Ahmed Nabil Koka (Ahly), Mahmoud Saber, Ibrahim Adel (Pyramids), Walid Aly (Pharco), Abdel-Ghany Mohamed (Ittihad), Emad Mayhoub, Ziad Mohamed (Enppi), Mohamed Shehata, Araby Badr (Tala'ea El Gaish), Aly Mahmoud.

Forwards: Hossam Ashraf (Zamalek), Osama Faisal (Bank El Ahly), Ahmed Sayed Gharib (Ittihad), Abdel-Rahman Atef (Ghazl El Mahalla).
