Wolfsburg Egyptian winger Marmoush had been summoned to join Egypt’s squad for the friendly game that will be played on 18 November in Kuwait against Belgium. The game is part of Belgium’s preparations for this month’s World Cup.
The 23-year-old sustained an injury while playing with his team against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on Saturday and had to leave the game after only 12 minutes.
Hamdi had been among the provisional squad that started the camp on 7 November before being excluded just before the trip to Kuwait.
The 25-year international netted one goal in 11 appearances with the Pharaohs since he made his international debut in 2020.
Hamdi played last season with Smouha on loan from Zamalek, delivering outstanding performances and finishing off second on the Egyptian league’s scorers chart with 15 goals.
The Pharaohs started a preparation camp last week in Cairo with the participation of 24 local-based players.
A statement from the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), said that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah will join the Pharaohs on Monday.
