It is first-ever call-up for Ismail to join the Egyptian national team after the player has reportedly opted to represent Egypt despite of having both English and Nigerian nationalities also.

The 16-year-old Ismail joined the Gunners’ youth team a year ago before officially joining the club’s U-18 team last July.

The English-born player has made six appearances with Arsenal’s team in the U-18 Premier League this season.

The current preparatory camp of the Egyptian national team in Ismailia, which will run until 20 October, is the first for the young Pharaohs under the guidance of new coach Wael Riad who took charge earlier in October.
