Ahram Online , Monday 30 Oct 2023

Egypt’s U-23 team coach Rogério Micale has announced the list of three foreign-based players who will join the training camp in November as part of the preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The Brazilian coach has called up Omar Fayed, who plays for Novi Pazar in Serbia, Mostafa Ashraf, who plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany, and Bilal Mazhar, who plays for Panathinaikos in Greece.

The camp will start on 13 November and last until 21 November and will include a friendly match against an unnamed opponent.

The US U-23 team, which were supposed to play against Egypt in the next international break, have apologized for cancelling the match due to the flight conditions at that time. The US team have requested to reschedule the match for a later date.

Egypt’s U-23 team have received several offers from other teams to play friendly matches, and the technical staff led by Micale will decide on the best option.

Egypt qualified for the Olympic Games after finishing second in the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
