Meanwhile, Brazil experienced a drop but managed to remain in the top ten of the world ranking.

The Pharaohs, after securing victories against Djibouti and Sierra Leone in the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers two weeks ago, advanced from the 35th to the 33rd position in this month's FIFA global rankings.

In their campaign opener, Egypt delivered an impressive 6-0 home victory over Djibouti.

They then overcame challenging conditions to secure a 2-0 win against Sierra Leone in their World Cup qualifier, held in Liberia.

Among African countries, Egypt maintained their fifth position, trailing behind Morocco (13th), Senegal (20th), Tunisia (29th), and Algeria (30th).

In the Arab nations' rankings, Egypt secured the fourth position, with Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria leading the pack.

Egypt had previously achieved a spot in the top 10 globally after winning three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008, and 2010.

Retaining their position at the top of the world rankings is Argentina, followed by France, England, and Belgium, respectively.

On the other hand, Brazil suffered setbacks with consecutive defeats against Colombia and Argentina, resulting in a drop from 3rd to 5th place.

As they strive for their fourth World Cup appearance, Egypt currently lead Group A in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a perfect score of six points.

They hold a two-point advantage over Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau, while Sierra Leone and Ethiopia share one point. Djibouti, at the bottom, has yet to earn a point.

Under the guidance of coach Rui Vitoria, Egypt has secured their place in the 2023 AFCON, scheduled to take place in Cote d'Ivoire in January 2024.

Meanwhile, Tunisia and Algeria have made significant progress by climbing three spots while maintaining their positions as the third and fourth ranked African teams, respectively.
