Int'l friendly tournament moved from UAE to Egypt: EFA

Ahram Online , Wednesday 13 Mar 2024

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced the relocation of the previously planned international friendly tournament in the United Arab Emirates to Cairo, Egypt.

Egypt VS Tunisia

The tournament, which will feature the national teams of Egypt, New Zealand, Croatia, and Tunisia, takes place from 21 to 26 March.

The EFA said the move came following discussions with the participating teams.

On 22 March, Egypt will face New Zealand and Tunisia will take on Croatia.

Losers will compete in a third-place match on 25 March and winners will compete for the trophy on 26 March.

This tournament will coincide with the Pharaohs' training camp in Cairo, led by newly appointed technical director Hossam Hassan.

It will be a crucial preparation for Egypt's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau in June in the third and fourth rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
