The Pharaohs already kicked off the camp with 19 locally based players last week, under the guidance of newly appointed coach Hossam Hassan.

The friendly tournament, featuring Egypt, New Zealand, Croatia, and Tunisia, will take place on 22-26 March in the New Administrative Capital.

Former Pharaohs coach Rui Vitoria did not call up Sherif, 29, who plays for Saudi side Khaleej FC, in the African Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire.

Fathi, 29, plays for Qatari side Al-Wakrah SC.

On 22 March, Egypt will face New Zealand, while Tunisia will take on Croatia.

The losers of these matches will compete in a third-place match on 25 March, and the winners will battle for the trophy on 26 March.

This tournament is important as it prepares for Egypt's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau.

The qualifiers will take place in June as part of the third and fourth rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
