Ashour sustained the injury during the team's 1-0 victory over New Zealand in a friendly tournament at Egypt Stadium.
The match was the debut appearance of Egypt's new coach Hossam Hassan.
Ashour, 26, left the pitch after a severe collision with one of the opposing players and was moved to hospital.
“Scans revealed that Ashour is suffering from a dislocated shoulder, but he will continue the scans on Saturday to check if surgery is needed or not,” the EFA said in a short statement via Facebook.
Since joining Ahly last summer from FC Midtjylland, Ashour, who made his international debut in 2021, has delivered outstanding performances; scoring three goals in 25 appearances in all competitions so far.
After Friday’s win, Egypt will play the final of Egypt Capital Cup on Tuesday against the winner between Croatia and Tunisia.
