From the outset, the World Cup 2022 bronze medalists showcased their dominance, launching relentless attacks in their quest for an early goal.
Nonetheless, it was the Lions of Carthage who initially found the back of the net in the 31st minute, courtesy of defender Hamza Jelassi. However, after a meticulous VAR review, the goal was ultimately disallowed.
Relying on their resilient defense, Tunisia adeptly exploited counter-attacks, capitalizing on the speed of Wajdi Kechrida and Hamza Rafia.
Despite their efforts, the Tunisian players failed to convert any chances, resulting in a goalless draw at the end of regulation time.
In the extended penalty shootout that followed, Croatia displayed composure, finding the back of the net on five occasions out of seven attempts. In contrast, Tunisia faltered, missing three crucial penalties, leading to a final score of 5-4 in favor of Croatia.
As a result, Croatia has earned their place in the final, where they will face Egypt on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tunisia will contend against New Zealand on the same day.
