According to a statement by the Egyptian Football Association, 24 players joined the camp while Mohamed Sherif and Mohamed Salah are expected on 29 May and 1st of June respectively.

On Sunday, the Pharaohs coach Hossam Hassan called up a 25-man squad to join the camp, including team skipper and Liverpool star winger Mohamed Salah.

The seven-time African champions Egypt currently lead Group A at the World Cup qualifiers with a perfect six points from victories over Djibouti (6-0) and Sierra Leone (2-0).

The encounter with Burkina Faso in Cairo will mark Hassan's first competitive appearance as the Pharaohs' coach.

The former Ahly and Zamalek star had previously guided the national team in two friendly matches during the Capital Cup last March, where they defeated New Zealand 1-0 but lost 4-2 to Croatia.
