The Nantes striker was forced to leave the field after only 15 minutes after sustaining a knee injury and was replaced by ENPPI player Ahmed Amin.
In a statement released by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), head of medical staff doctor Mohamed Abo El-Ela revealed that Mohamed suffers from a knee ligament injury and that he will undergo further scans upon his return to Cairo on Tuesday to assess the severity of the injury.
Despite the draw, Egypt remain at the top of Group A with ten points, six ahead of second-placed Guinea Bissau.
