Elneny returns to the squad after showing an impressive form in Egypt's campaign at the Olympics where he captained the U23 team to the first semi-final in 60 years.

The roster also includes three newcomers: Hamza Alaa (Ahly), Mohamed Shehata (Zamalek), and Khaled Sobhi (Ceramica Cleopatra).
The Alaa and Shehata earned their first senior call-ups after standout performances in the Paris Olympics, where the Ahly keeper made 21 saves, the highest in the tournament.
Ipswich town midfielder and captain Sam Morsy remains absent despite leading his team to the Premier League.
