Egypt clinched a 1-0 victory over Mauritania in Nouakchott during a Nations Cup qualifier, securing their place in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Ibrahim Adel made an impactful appearance, entering the match as a second-half substitute and swiftly scoring the winner just moments after replacing Ossama Fayssal in the 83 rd minute of the game.
The Pyramids forward skillfully lobbed the ball from approximately 50 meters, eluding Mauritania's goalkeeper who was off his line.
"We accomplished our objective," Ibrahim Adel told BeIN Sports post-game.
"Scoring brings me great happiness, but what truly matters is the team's success."
Currently topping Group C with a perfect 12 points, Egypt maintains a comfortable six-point lead over Botswana, who also emerged victorious against Cape Verde on the same Tuesday.
