The Pharaohs are on a break following the culmination of their campaign in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers last month.
Having clinched a spot in next year’s prestigious continental competition set to be held in Morocco by topping Group C with 14 points, Egypt is also leading Group A in the 2026 Africa World Cup qualifiers with 10 points after four rounds of play.
Guided by coach Hossam Hassan, the Pharaohs remain the third-highest-ranked team in Africa, trailing behind Morocco and Senegal.
In the Arab world, Egypt secures the second spot, following Morocco, who also retained their standing in the global rankings.
Earlier, Egypt had reached the global top 10 after a triumphant streak of three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008, and 2010.
The next official match for Egypt is scheduled for March against Ethiopia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
