19:30 The Pharaohs’ squad saw minor adjustments, including the call-up of NBE Club defender Amr El Gazar, with Ahly’s Yasser Ibrahim sidelined by a muscle injury and Nice’s Mohamed Abdelmonem ruled out due to a long-term ACL injury.
Zamalek midfielder Mohamed Shehata is another notable absentee, while talented playmaker Nasser Maher continues to struggle for consistent form.

18:30 RATP Dev Mobility Cairo - the operator of Cairo Metro’s Line 3 - announced special arrangements for football fans heading to Cairo International Stadium on Friday to attend the match.
“Operating hours on Metro Line 3 will be extended until 02:00, with a train available every five minutes from 18:00 onwards to accommodate the expected surge in passenger numbers at Stadium Station,” read a statement by RATP Dev Mobility Cairo.

14:00 The seven-time African champions are chasing their fourth-ever World Cup appearance, having previously featured in 1934, 1990 and 2018. Victory against Ethiopia would push them closer to sealing early qualification.

12:00 Egypt lead Group A with 16 points from six games, five clear of Burkina Faso. Sierra Leone are third with 8 points, Ethiopia and Guinea-Bissau both have 6, while Djibouti sit bottom with just 1 point.
