Hassan, 59, was appointed in February 2024 and has since guided Egypt reach the 2025 AFCON and placed them on the verge of reaching the 2026 World Cup finals.
“Hossam Hassan will continue after the Africa Cup of Nations regardless of the team’s results in the tournament,” Abou Rida said during a broadcast on EFA channels.
“I always speak with him about his preparation plan for the World Cup,” he added.
The 2025 Afica Cup of Nations will take place in Morocco from 21 December, 2025, to 18 January, 2026.
Meanwhile, the 2026 World Cup will take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada from 11 June to 19 July.
“I always support the national team’s technical staff,” Abou Rida added. “I tell them: just do your work, I’m behind you.”
“We don’t know exactly how things will unfold, but I believe the team can at least reach the semi-finals,” the EFA president said.
Egypt were drawn in Group B for AFCON 2025, alongside South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe.
The Pharaohs sit on the brink of World Cup qualification and need just two points to secure their place in the World competition.
They face Djibouti on Wednesday in the ninth round of the African World Cup qualifiers before taking on Guinea Bissau, four days later.
