Egypt's opponent Kuwait seal FIFA Arab Cup group stage berth with win over Mauritania

Egypt have learned their third group-stage opponent in the FIFA Arab Cup after Kuwait defeated Mauritania 2-0 in a qualifying play-off in Doha on Tuesday.

Mohammad Daham opened the scoring for Kuwait in the 9th minute, and the team doubled their lead in the 23rd minute when Mauritania defender Mohamed Nouh scored an own goal.

The result completes an all-Asian challenge for Egypt in the group stage, with Kuwait joining Jordan and the United Arab Emirates in the Pharaohs' group. The tournament will take place in Qatar from December 1 to 18.

Egypt’s B-team will begin their campaign against Kuwait on December 2, followed by matches against the UAE on December 6 and Jordan on December 9.
