“Spain’s national team will face Egypt in Qatar on 30 March. The match will be played at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Spain time (GMT+1),” the RFEF said on its official X account.

The two sides have met once before, in 2006, when Spain claimed a 2-0 victory at the Martínez Valero Stadium in Elche, with goals from Raúl and Reyes.

Egypt are also set to face Saudi Arabia in another friendly on 26 March international break, while Spain will play Argentina in the same period.

The matches form part of both teams’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be held in North America.

The Pharaohs are in Group G of the 2026 World Cup alongside Belgium, Iran and New Zealand.

Spain were drawn in Group H with Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.

Egypt reached the semifinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Morocco.
