Pharaohs, who have been out of action recently, remain at 40 in FIFA global ranking

Egypt remain at 40 in November’s FIFA world football rankings, which were announced on Wednesday.

The winners of seven African Cup of Nations trophies are sixth in Africa and second in the Arab world.

Ivory Coast are still the top African side at 15, Algeria are up five places to 19, and Mali are third at 28.

Spain stay top of the world rankings while Germany remain second. Argentina climb one place to third, switching places with Portugal.

Under the leadership of American manager Bob Bradley, Egypt are preparing for their World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in March.
