Egypt U-20 team has been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Algeria, Ghana (World champions in 2009) and Benin.

This represents a tough challenge for the Egyptian team, as they will have to fight fiercely against their African competition. The group stage is scheduled for next March in Algeria, where each team will vie for one of the group's two tickets to qualify to the next round and reach the FIFA U-20 World Cup next summer.

The draw, conducted on Sunday at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football in Cairo, saw Nigeria, Mali, DR Congo and Gabon drawn together in Group B.

The semifinalists of this competition will represent the continent in the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Egypt placed third in the last edition of the African competition.
