The Egyptian Football Association (EFA), under the leadership of president Gamal Allam, has accepted the resignation of the U-20 coach Rabie Yassin after the team’s recent failure at the World Cup in Turkey.

"Yassin is also out of the list of EFA candidates for coaching the national Olympic team," a source in the association told Ahram Sports.

Egypt U-20 team have returned home from Turkey after failing to pass through the first round, being defeated by Chile and Iraq 2-1 before gaining a solitary win over England, scoring 2-0.

Yassin, with the young Pharaohs, had raised the expectations of Egyptian fans for the World Cup after clinching the African tournament.
