The AC Milan forward confirms he 'has never considered playing for Egypt'

AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy said on Tuesday he is proud to have chosen to represent Italy, confirming that he has never thought to play for Egypt.

The promising 21-year-old, who was born in Italy to an Egyptian father and Italian mother, started his career with the Azzurri on 15 August 2012. He went on to play 10 games, scoring one goal so far.

"I’m Italian, so I’ve never thought about playing for Egypt," El Shaarawy was quoted as saying by Football Italia on Tuesday

"I am proud of my roots, but Italy is my home."
