Egyptian authorities have banned well-known footballer Mahmoud Abdel-Razek 'Shikabala' from leaving Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Airport early Tuesday in accompany with his Portuguese team Sporting Lisbon.

The 27-year-old, who joined the European outfit at the end of January, failed to obtain a travel permit from the Egyptian Armed Forces, as he is still under conscription.

The Liga Sagres held with a 2-2 draw in a friendly against Ittihad of Alexandria amid their celebration of the club's centennial.

The former Zamalek star is finalizing his paper work and he is due to fly out on Wednesday.
