Snapshot of Chelsea's Mohamed Salah accepting the "Ice bucket Challenge"
Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah has joined the Ice Bucket Challenge, appearing in a video after being challenged by Pharoahs teammate Ahmed Koka, who plays for Portugese side Rio Ave, and his friend Ali Mazhar.
"Koka and Mazhar, thanks for nominating me. I accept your challenge," the 22-year-old Chelsea attacker said in the video.
Salah dared Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy, TV anchor Amr Adib, footballer Emad Meteb and his brother before a big bucket of frozen water was dumped over his head.
The Blues star, who hasn't performed with Chelsea since the kick-off of the Egyptian Premier League two weeks ago, appeared in the video with a bandage around his ankle – triggering speculations that an injury could be the reason for his absence, despite no official reports being announced yet.
The Ice Bucket Challenge frenzy, originally a charity activity, has become a global trend lately, featuring many well-known names including Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, Barcelona's Spanish defender Gerard Piqué and his wife Shakira.
