The Egyptian international forward Mohamed Ibrahim says he is delighted to join Portuguese side Maritimo from Zamalek

Portuguese club Maritimo have officially signed Zamalek forward Mohamed Ibrahim on a five-year deal.

"We have completed the signing of Egyptian forward Mohamed Ibrahim for five years," the club said in a statement in its official website.

Maritimo has agreed to pay LE3.7 million (€400,000) for the Cairo giants to sign the player who successfully passed medical scans before signing the contract on Monday.

"I am happy to join Maritimo," Ibrahim was quoted as saying by his new club’s official website.

"I hope I can please the club fans," added the player who will wear the number 98 on his jersey.

The 22-year-old, is one of the hottest prospects in Egyptian football, and was one of Zamalek's key elements in the last three seasons.

He helped them the Whites to win the last two editions of the Egypt Cup.

Maritimo currently lies at seventh place in the Portuguese league table after three matchdays.

They ended last season's league at the sixth place with 41 points, 33 behind winners Benfica.
