Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah created a goal to continue his impressive run with Fiorentina as the team drew 1-1 at home to AS Roma in an all-Italian Europa League clash on Thursday.

Josip Ilicic gave Fiorentina an early lead against AS Roma when he fired home from inside the area after latching onto a neat pass from Salah, who has been one of the best performers in Italian football since joining from Chelsea on loan in January.

The visitors had Adem Ljajic dismissed on the hour but Roma's 10 men fought hard to get back in the tie and they were rewarded when Seydou Keita levelled with 13 minutes to go in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16.

Salah has scored six goals in nine appearances with Fiorentina in all competitions since his arrival, earning widespread praise after quickly adapting to Italian football. His loan deal with the club expires at the end of the season.
