Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary confirmed that he was surprised by the resignation of Egyptian coach Hossam El Badry from the leadership of El-Merreikh.
“I know nothing about El-Badry’s resignation,” El-Hadary was quoted as saying in the Sudanese newspaper Al-Sada, adding “I was surprised by the decision.”
El-Merreikh’s Egyptian coach Hossam El-Badry resigned from his post without disclosing the reasons for his sudden departure last Friday.
The 38-year old goalkeeper said he is now concentrating on the Egypt national team’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against South Africa on 5 June in Cairo.
“I don’t pay attention to the management affairs; I concentrate on my role in the game only,” the Pharaohs goalie added.
Earlier this week, El-Hadary had been named for the Egypt squad that will face South Africa in the 2012 ACN qualifying next June.
