Sudanese league leaders El Merreikh have announced that they would not oppose an eventual move by Egyptian keeper Essam El-Hadary to another club.

“The board will listen to any offer that would satisfy both El-Hadary and the club,” an inside source from the club’s board was quoted as saying in the Sudanese newspaper El Zaim on Monday.

Rumours suggest the 38-year old keeper will leave El-Merreikh after the departure of Egyptian coach Hossam El-Badry last week.

El-Merreikh is now leading the race in its local league, three points ahead of arch-rivals Al Hilal but El-Badry but decided to step down because of the board’s intervention in his job.

El-Hadary, who joined the Sudanese side last summer in a $200,000 move, already has some offers on the table but is expected to make his decision after the Egypt-South Africa clash in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers next Sunday.
