Fiorentina team manager Vincenzo Guerini vented his anger on Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini for interefering in the transfer of Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah from Chelsea.

Salah rejected a permanent deal with Fiorentina, where he spent the second half of last season on loan from parent club Chelsea amid reports that he is close to join Inter.

The 23-year old player enjoyed a fruitful loan spell in Italy; scoring nine goals in 26 appearances as Fiorentina finished fourth in the Serie A and reached the Europa League semi-finals.

“I really didn’t like the joke he made about Salah,” Guerini told Italia 7 television.

When asked about Salah during a press conference two weeks ago, Mancini joked by saying he had not called Salah since he ran out of credit on his mobile.

“It was unpleasant. I’d never have expected something like that from a man of his experience. His comment was offensive towards Fiorentina,” Guerini added.

Inter and Fiorentina recently went to war of words as the latter accused the Nerazzurri officials of interfering with a lucrative offer that made the player change his mind.

Fiorentina had an option to extend the loan of Salah for another year but he rejected their offer, a move which was described by a club official as "insane."

On 5 July, Inter Milan issued a statement hitting back at Fiorentina after the club's vice-president allegedly said Inter should be relegated over their pursuit of Salah.

Salah recently joined his Chelsea teammates for their pre-season camp in the United States while his future still remains up in the air.

“Nobody thinks he’s going to suddenly turn up here, but I just want to know what happened. The last time I saw him, he was happy and joking around with everyone, then something must’ve changed,” Guerini said.

“He probably received a scandalous offer. We too proposed a very high wage and could not have done more,” he added.

Salah could join Roma

At the same time, media reports in Italy claimed that Salah could be heading to join Italian giants AS Roma this summer as Fiorentina will block any possible move to inter.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina have asked Chelsea to sign their player Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan for €1m in order not to sue Chelsea at the FIFA, demanding a ban on the Egyptian international.

The newspaper also said that Fiorentina asked for a ‘value’ payment for improving Salah’s price-tag during his spell in Florence.

Finally, Fiorentina want the London-based club to stop Salah from joining Inter this summer. They indicated, however, that they would allow a transfer to Serie A rivals Roma who were direct in their desire to sign the player.
