Egypt goalkeeper Essam El Hadary is eager to participate in the 2014 World Cup
Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary, currently playing for Sudanese side El-Merreikh, has revealed his ambition to play in the 2014 World Cup that will take place in Brazil.
“The dream of playing in the 2014 World Cup is still chasing me,” El-Hadary said on his official website.
The 38-year old goalkeeper also claimed that he learned more after leaving Ahly.
“I learned more from leaving Ahly, as I knew people wanted to prevent my professional progression,” El-Hadray added.
The Pharaohs shot stopper described the Egypt and South Africa African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday as a crucial clash.
“Egypt's game against South Africa is crucial for our team and we have more experienced stars who can get the upper hand in the game,” he added.
Egypt, who lie the bottom of Group G with a single point to South Africa's seven, need to win their remaining three games to keep alive any hope of playing in the finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
