Egypt midfielder Mahmoud “Trezeguet” Hassan has been ruled out of action for several months due to a serious dislocated shoulder injury, his club RSC Anderlecht announced Wednesday.

"Trezeguet will undergo an operation and medical tests and will be ruled out for months," the club stated through their official website.

The Ahly-bound attacking midfielder, who is on a season-long loan at Belgian giants Anderlecht, suffered the injury during an Egypt training session in the United Arab Emirates, where they faced Senegal and Zambia in friendly games.

Hassan, nicknamed Trezeguet due to his resemblance to former France striker David Trezeguet, moved to Anderlecht after producing some impressive displays with Cairo giants Ahly last season, although they lost the Egyptian Premier League title to arch-rivals Zamalek.
